comeを使った表現

comeは、「来る」という意味の単語ですが、Longmanの英英辞典によると、３４個の意味があります。さらに、comeを含んだ熟語を混ぜると、１００以上の意味に分かれるのではないかと思います（数えきれないです）。

そんな中から使えそうなものを５つだけピックアップしました。

■come first　一番になる
「一番に来る」という文字通りの意味です。

例）
＊She came first in the 200 meters.
（彼女は２００メートルで１番になった）

二番になるは、come second と言います。

■come to do something　感情は意見を持ち始める
（to begin to have a feeling or opinion）

例）
＊He came to think of Italy as his home.
（彼は、イタリアを故郷のように思うようになった）

■come in 商品などが特定の特徴をもって生産されたり売られたりする
（to be produced or sold with particular features）

例）
＊This particular sofa comes in four different colours.
（この特別なソファには、４つ色があります）

■come across 偶然会う、偶然見つける
（to meet, find, or discover someone or something by chance）

例）
＊I came across an old diary in her desk.
（彼女の机から偶然古い日記を見つけた）

■come across 理解される
（if an idea comes across well, it is easy for people to understand）

例）
＊Your point really came across at the meeting.
（あなたのポイントは、会議でよく理解できた）

＊His explanation didn’t come across well.(ジーニアス英和辞典より）
（彼の説明は分かりにくかった）

＝＞acrossは、「横切って」という前置詞・副詞なので、アイディアなどが頭の中をうまく横切ると理解しやすくて、そうでない場合は、分かりにくいのでしょう。
