歯の英語

海外で虫歯が痛み出すような事は避けたいですね。海外に行く前に、歯の治療を終わらせておくのが基本ですが、万が一の時には歯医者のお世話になるかもしれません。今回は、そんな時に役立つ英語を纏めてみます。

■歯の症状の表現
＊I have a toothache.
歯が痛い。

＊I have a sensitive tooth.
歯がしみる。

＊My wisdom tooth aches.
親不知が痛い。

＊My filling came out.
つめものが取れた。

＊My gums are swollen.
歯茎が腫れています。

＊My gums are bleeding.
歯茎から血が出ています。

＊The pain is unbearable.
耐えられない痛みです。

用語：
・sensitive 敏感な、感じやすい
・wisdom tooth 親不知
・ache　痛む
・filling　歯の詰め物（充填材）
・gum 歯茎、ゴム質、樹脂、チューインガム
・swell （人の体）はれる、ふくれる
swollenは、swellの過去分詞形（swell-swelled-swollen)

次に、歯の病気などを話題にする時のキーワードをいくつか紹介します。

CNNニュースなどを見ると、gingivitisを使わずに、gum disease (歯茎の病気）という一般的な言葉を使ってやさしく表現しています。
